In general, we expect a very high level of maturity and good behavior of our members, one well over and beyond the general standard of acceptability even on a relatively good server like Defias Brotherhood. The Path is, however, a community of adults, which means that we must respect different sensibilities, viewpoints, and tastes. This cuts both ways: we must appreciate other people's sensitivities while keeping our own in perspective. Racism, sexism, homophobia, nationalism, bullying, whining, aggression, and other poor behavior have no place in the Luminous Path and will be dealt with swiftly and forcefully. This Code of Conduct serves not as prudish school rules, but as a concretization of our expectations in the interest of fairness. Adhering to it is a condition of playing and raiding with us. |

Be civil to everyone. "Civil" in this case means treating them with a basic degree of respect, the same one you would expect from them. Always:
Never:

The RP ruleset is the highest law of this guild. Higher than the Torah, higher than the laws of thermodynamics, higher than Jude Law smoking a bong in orbit. For reference, these are included at the end of this post.

We very seriously frown upon the buying and selling of characters and accounts. Since doing so can lead to a ban from Blizzard with no warning, it is not in our best interest to give raid loot to characters that could be lost at any moment. If it comes to our attention that you are engaging in this, we may deprive you of your raid status and bank access, or, in serious cases, remove you from the guild. If an account with characters in the guild is sold or given onward to someone other than the person we originally admitted into the guild, those characters will be gkicked. Buying and selling accounts puts the security of the guild bank at risk. All players are highly encouraged to use an Authenticator with their World of Warcraft account. |

If you observe a violation of this code of conduct or are yourself the victim (or indeed perpetrator) of one, please get in touch with Vedder, Savian, Arache or Jotra immediately. If none of us are online, the best course of action is to immediately alt-tab to the forums and write one of us a private message. (For feminist-theoretical and post-gender issues, please contact the Guild Gender Equality Representative, Kekrops/Iah, directly.) |

These are wonderfully rare, since we are fairly selective and have a very good atmosphere in the guild. If you poison that atmosphere, we'll probably go ahead and ask you to leave. Most of us are too busy playing Warcraft to put up with people who can't behave. In technical terms, the Dragon Head, Vedder, is the officer in charge of conduct issues. |
