Hi, a few questions to a fellow tanker ( im an old timer, i dont rly play anymore :P ).
anyways was wondering if you could answer.
what are your primary objectives as a tank in a raid? in your oppinion.
are you more important than someone else in the raid?
if you get to save either a fellow healer or a dps from dying whom do you choose and why?
thats it for me!

Hi Jiandar!

The primary objective of a tank is of course to have the most threat on all active targets. As I explained in my application, I believe this was 'adjusted' with the threat changes to some extend, to provide the tanks to have more time to get an overview of the battlefield, and adjust cooldowns, positioning and the like better. Nothing like a tank that misses a roll on spine because he is too busy fighting for threat against the mage. I hope this makes sense :)

I don't believe I alone is more important, but I believe tanks generally are (along with healers), as it's almost 100% sure of a wipe if both tanks go down. With the current heroic fights that you guys are working on, the fights are less forgiving on errors, so one bad move from the tanks can almost guarentee a wipe. On normal content though, the fights are more forgiving and a quick Death Knight or a warrior with a shield macro can temporarily tank with some cooldowns popped.

Saving a healer or a DPS really depends on the situation. If there's an abundance of DPS, but the raid wide damage is taxing, it's obvious that it's the healer, but if the DPS is lacking and the healers doesn't seem stressed at all, and with the enrage timer coming closer and closer, I believe it's a DPS I will save. I'm not entirely sure how I can answer this properly, as I believe there is so many things to take into account.

I hope my answers make sense, as I admittedly have only proof read it once.

Tricky question.

If you had to choose between saving a hunter or saving a mage... which one would you choose? xD

If I was sated, the hunter, if not, the mage. (Sorry, don't kill me, please.)

True but he'll not be sated more often than he will be so that means I'll get saved more often!
