(Because of the recent update to the WoW Armory, the site is almost continuously down...I therefore present the next best thing) http://wow-heroes.com/index.php?zone=eu ... ame=Savian
Fishing Skill: 450
Cooking Skill: 450
Blithering/Yapping Skill: Increasing daily and impossible to track

What's your name and where are you from?
My name out in the real world is Robin, though my friends refer to me simply as <R>. More and more people have also taken to calling me Sav, which is both disturbing and flattering. I reside in the picturesque country known as the Netherlands, more specifically the south-western end

How old are you? Please give your answer in Reverse Polish Notation
As soon as I saw this bit my Wiki-fetish kicked in and I looked it up. A few minutes browsing through the contents of the page immediately made me flash back to roughly 8 years ago and the day I really started hating mathematical gibberish writings >.< But I will give you an alternative! A ‘simple’ equation you can solve to figure out my age

Y=((45*(Fishing Skill-300))*0)+23
with Y being my age

How long have you been playing WoW? (may help explain strangely high overall skills)
I’ve been playing since May of ’05, with a total of about 3 weeks break. Something along the lines of 10.000 hours according to my X-Fire profile hrm....4 initial months on the Alliance side because ‘all the cool kids were Alliance’. Then I found out that was pretty much a lie (not really, my lvl 34 mage got stuck in Gnomeregan and never found his way out again). I then started a Troll Shaman on a server that launched (then) 3 hours ago, called Defias Brotherhood

Is this your main? How often do you play this character? Tell us about your other characters, including any serious alts.
This mage is my main and will probably always remain as such because of all the effort and hours I’ve put into him. I play him anything from 3-15 hours a day depending on what obscure item I’m farming or who I am boosting through WC for the umpteenth time. I have 9 other characters on the server, only 1 of whom I would consider a true alt. He’s a lvl 74 Rogue by the name of Savvien in the guild Benevolent. The others range from lvl 29 to several 60’s, 70’s and one 80 whom I use for farming and storage

What's your guild history? Are you in a guild right now? Are you leaving that guild because of some drama you caused? Cause one thing we really don't want is drama... No, you say? Then why are you leaving?
As of applying I am still in Sidereals, however I have already notified the officers and other members of my upcoming departure, regardless of whether I get accepted into Luminous Path or not. The guildies and guild as a whole has changed into something beyond the guild I initially joined. This is not necessarily a bad thing but it doesn’t feel suitable for me anymore. I’m also planning on slightly changing the days and hours I play and therefore cannot make Sidereals’ raid times and day anymore. Seeing as I still would like to see and do the endgame content I decided to switch to a guild that can provide me with just that

Provide the names of some people we can get in touch with in-game as references. If you know anyone on the Path, either in-game or IRL, mention that here also
In the Path that would be the ever sturdy Denathos, whom I only recently met but who has become my partner in crime in many ways. Also Tidrui, the most likable and awesome tree on the server. Outside of the Path, the people most likely to vouch in any sort of way for me would be the officers of Sidereals: Rajana, Wrenn and Hemera. Special mention goes to Aeyvi and Kalito of Benevolent, Amathal of Sidereals, Droxx and Draghnir of A Silent Resolve and Azuta of Second Gurubashi Empire

What is your role in raids? How do you judge whether you're doing a good job or not?
A mage’s most important job is and always has been....conjuring cookies for the entire raid! I specialise in this, so my Strudels are always fresh, sweet and generally tasty. I can also provide extra brain power for everyone and one lucky individual will receive the coveted Focus Magic.
As for how I consider myself doing a good job, if the mob(s) fall(s) over, I am still alive or something resembling life and I have received no complaints, then I think I’ve done a good job. I’m anti-recount for personal purposes but by all means let me know if my dps is subpar, preferably with some pointers as to how I can improve it. All constructive criticism is welcome, I like nothing more than to improve my playing to benefit others

What's your PvE experience like?
I only started properly raiding in Wrath but I have done some lone raids in TBC. As of 2 weeks ago I have officially cleared every single raid in the game, be it Vanilla, TBC or Wrath, with specialisation in Molten Core and Blackwing Lair

Raided at the appropriate level:
TBC:
- Karazhan (full clear)
- Zul’Aman (first two bosses)
Wrath:
- Naxx10/25 (full clear)
- Ulduar10 (up to Mimiron)
- Ulduar25 (full clear)
- ToC10/25 (full clear)
- ICC10/25 (first wing)

Describe your choice of spec, how you came to your current build, and any other things you feel we should know about why you spent your talent points the way you did
I’m in the cookie-cutter Arcane spec (57/3/11) because well...it’s cookie-cutter for a reason. It’s been proven as the best overall Arcane spec by the folks over at Elitist Jerks and who am I to doubt months of math? The only things people might notice are the lack of Slow and Arcane Barrage. The first one can be easily explained: in PvE there is no need to use Slow as every single tank has a slowing effect in their rotation that will activate Torment of the Weak, one of the biggest dps boosters the spec has to offer. The lack of Arcane Barrage is both due to personal reasons as it is mathematical reasons. Since it was nerfed several patches ago to suit PvP needs, AB’s damage has dropped to the point of near uselessness. I also have an inexplicable adversity to the spell itself that I cannot really explain

Where do you go to read about your class outside of the game?
Official WoW Europe Mage forums, Wowhead Mage forums and of course the ever brilliant Elitist Jerks forums

Obviously you're here for the awesome PvE, but this being an RP realm, and us lot being total nerds, indulge us: end your application with a short biography, in-character note to the officers, or other story or statement about yourself. Effort is much more appreciated than length or content, and this section is not optional

Slowly he walked towards a marked grave, situated between the many graves that occupied the site already. The fallen leaves crunching softly beneath his sandals, as he almost glided forward.
When he arrived at the marker he fell to one knee, his head hanging down slightly both in grief and respect.

‘Thurius Greyweaver’
Presumed deceased after the Scourge attack
on Quel’Thalas

I will never stop searching for you Brother

After a few minutes of deep thought he rose to his feet again, his robe immaculate where it had touched the ground as if some force had repelled the dirt.
How many years had it been since his brother had disappeared? He lost track of time ever since he began his search. He knew his big brother was still out there, alive and well. No priest that might would have been overcome by mere undead rabble.

‘I will find you, I swear’ he mumbled to himself while he backed away from the headstone, overgrown yet strangely clean.

He closed his eyes and started whispering words in Thalassian. A faint blue glow began to emanate from him as he accompanied his chant by hastily scribing rune words into the air with both hands. Mere seconds later his body was being engulfed by the aura until only a bright humanoid shape remained. Then a soft buzz and he had disappeared.

He opened his eyes and his senses became temporarily overwhelmed by the environment he had landed in. Humid air, mossy ground, bugs buzzing around his face and the many sounds of swamp dwelling creatures filling his ears. As he adjusted to the diminished light, the sun hardly reached the ground through the overlapping trees, he noticed a familiar presences to his right.

Though the shape was too rough to make out, he instinctively knew who it was. The size of the torso, the glowing of his blade, the scratching of his armorplates. When the figure spoke, he confirmed the mage’s gut feeling.

‘Are you ready for some fiery destruction, Sav my friend?’

The mage nodded as they both mounted a Windrider and headed north.

Some hours later they arrived at their destination: a cave, deep underground. It’s entrance black and menacing, with sharp edged rocks sticking out on all sides from the walls. Even standing in the entrance slightly singed his face as the smell of burning flesh and sulphur entered his nose.

‘Lead the way Dray’, the told the Death Knight that had accompanied him. Known to everyone else as Denathos, the Tauren stepped forward from behind the mage and unsheathed his sword, filling the cavern entrance with a dampened green light.
With a steady pace they marched forward into this maw of madness, to finish what they had started before.

It was known to all who knew them: the Exalted ones have gone down to the Molten Core, and they will either come back with priceless artifacts and object of power or they won’t come back at all, their bodies turned to ash by the flaming monstrosities that dwelled within the Fire Lord’s Sanctum.

A deafening roar, a loud crash, the sound of metal hitting stone, blue flashes of light. The last anyone outside the entrance would see and hear, if anyone were to actually have witnessed it.

Additional notes. Optionally, mention anything else you'd like us to know about your application
Not much really, maybe the fact that at times I can be extremely chatty and at times extremely quiet. This might also be a common trait amongst humans, but seeing as don’t meet many I can’t be sure! I like enjoying my play sessions with ample quantities of chocolate and Belgian beer and I can be found online many nights playing at ungodly hours

This guild lacks both mages and the Dutch, so this is very exciting. If you could clear up a couple of things for me:

    • How many raid nights per week do you see yourself signing up for, and what are your expectations about getting a spot or being benched?
    • How enthusiastic are you about talking in Vent during raids?

I'll leave the class questions to the casters.

Greetings, Savian! I'm glad that your find your way here!
First I must say, This was a very nice appplication, I like it!

There is just one small note from my side.
Where is the 3rd minor glyph? I know, dont take me wrong, It is far from important. But as I asked the same thing to another application, I simply cannot ignore this.
Once again, A minor glyph is not something important, But I never find it wrong to push your character to the absolute peak of performance!

Once again, A very nice application! I hope to see you soon!

In and out!

Hey Savian.

Well, if it was up to me, i wouldn't need more than just: I wanna join The Path.

Known you in-game for little over a year now for numerous of instances, raids and octional boosts and farmings. Both with and without Vith as tank.

Great attitude, both when it comes to progress and fails during raids, but also when it comes to lending some magic when needed. Always there to talk with when life sucks.

Hopes for the best.

Hugs Tidrui.

First off, thanks for the great replies people! Especially from you Tid *hugs*

On to the questions hehe

I'm available basically every night but Wednesday due to IRL commitments but I understand that's not a raiding night for the Path. 3/3 would thusly be my answer. I sign up when I can and enjoy being picked. If I get benched/put on standby I'm totally fine with that, I understand that sometimes more people sign up than can fit into a raid or that sometimes people have priority for a spot. I'll just entertain myself otherwise.

About talking in Vent, like I said before I can be somewhat quiet sometimes but I have a sweet headset I'm not afraid to use!

I'm not afraid to say I've yet to find a proper 3rd Minor Glyph. Quick rundown of available ones: Penguin (I use the more awesome Turtle Polymorph so useless), Blast Wave (Fire talent, don't have that spell), Frost/Fire Ward (spells so situational I hardly use them, if I do it's on elemental mobs who are immune to the reflected damage anyways or on ground fire which can't be reflected at all), Frost Armor (as I'm not into PvP and especially like the 15% crit my Molten Armor provides, I never use this spell either)

I hope that clears things up enough. Any more questions are always welcome!

Sav.

I can't find one, either. 5% less mana cost for Blessing of Kings? Super! Super Useless! You're a smart man not to give up the awesome turtle polymorph.

Hey, Robin, thanks for the detailed, well-thought out application!

Accepted. Please whisper Thórva, Ekhan, or Zalmoxis in-game for an invite.
